2025 Officer Recommendations
It’s time for us to recommend men to serve our church in the offices of elder and deacon. We would like to request your prayerful and thoughtful participation in this process. Please carefully read the following guidelines before submitting your recommendations.
General Details
All resident members age 16 and up are authorized to submit recommendations. Recommendations, both physical and online, are due no later than Sunday, February 9.
You may submit your recommendations immediately online by clicking on the button below. A list of names is available through a link on this page.
If you prefer to submit a physical ballot, you’ll find a recommendation form on the last page of the document mailed to you, or you may print one using the link below. Please place your completed recommendation form in one of our offering boxes, mail it to the church office, or bring it by the church office during business hours (Monday-Thursday 9am-4pm).
A list of resident member men is available on the back side of the form mailed to you and at the link below. If you wish to recommend a member whose name has been inadvertently left off the list, please do so. The names of men currently serving as elders or deacons are clearly marked—there is no need to recommend these men to serve. The names of men who have joined Concord less than a year ago are marked with plus signs (++)—these men are ineligible to hold office until having been a member for at least one year.

Officer Qualifications
Please give careful consideration to men whom you believe to be biblically qualified. Regarding your deacon recommendations, you will be asked to indicate which deacon-led ministry they might be best-suited to lead.
Elder Qualifications (Elder = Pastor, Overseer)
A term of service is three years. Elders are responsible for the oversight of the church.
“The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. 2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. 4 He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, 5 for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church? 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.” (1 Timothy 3:1-7; cf. Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
Deacon Qualifications
Deacons are responsible to lead the service-oriented ministries of our church, thereby freeing the pastors to focus on the ministry of the Word and prayer.
“Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. 9 They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. 11 Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. 13 For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 3:8-13)
